How mud therapy cycle works in Abano Terme

A cycle of mud therapy includes 12 consecutive sessions to be performed under medical supervision. In our Spa hotels in Abano Terme, each phase is painstaking studied to ensure the maximum benefit:

Step 1: Thermal mud application

Thermal mud is applied directly to the body at a controlled temperature between 38° and 42°C, according to the medical prescription.

Step 2: Sweating and controlled thermal reaction

During the mud application, the body activates a natural thermoregulation process, which promotes sweating and the elimination of toxins.

Step 3: Mud removal and thermal bath

After about 15 minutes, thermal mud is removed and the person is immersed in a tub filled with thermal water and relaxing and detoxifying ozone.

Step 4: Post-treatment reaction and heat release phase

This phase involves resting wrapped in blankets to extend the effects of the treatment.

Step 5: Optional therapeutic massage

On request, the session can be completed by a decontracting massage, to enhance the beneficial effects of the mud application.
