It all started with a dream
Our story begins in the 1980s, when Gaetano Sbirziola—originally from Butera, in the province of Caltanissetta, Sicily—discovered the wonders of Abano Terme and the Euganean Hills during some wonderful stays of his. It wasn’t just a simple holiday, but the beginning of a project that would soon involve his entire family.
In 1997, he decided to move to Abano Terme with his four children—Rocco, Giuseppe Gaetano, Anna, and Claudio—and he opened the historic Hotel Terme Roma, in the heart of Abano Terme.
His passion for hospitality, combined with a strong commitment to quality and care of his guests, gave rise to a history of trust, excellence and authentic connections.
Today, under the supervision of the Sbirziola family, the SHG Group manages two iconic hotels in Abano Terme: each of them with its own identity and vocation, but united by the family and a professional spirit that, back in 1996, inspired a dream.
